Now, about your Instagram account:

You CAN get it back (see below). But it could take months. Which is why it's so critical that you have a web presence that you own:

Get Your Instagram Account Back

How to get back your Instagram account when it's been wrongfully disabled, deactivated or suspended:

It takes persistence. But it is possible. A blogger called Johnny Africa posted a detailed step-by-step of the entire, convoluted process. Here is the nutshell version:

  1. Set up a Facebook (not Instagram) business account.

  2. Run an ad (i.e., boost one of your posts).

  3. Once your credit card has been charged, you are considered a FB business customer and can access their customer support (IG's doesn't exist, even though it's all Meta).

  4. Contact FB business customer support and ask (nicely) for help getting your IG account back.

  5. You will likely have to do this multiple times before you get to chat with a rep who will actually help and not just shuttle you off to the IG "help" center (which will take you in circles) … but it may be worth it to you.

And guess what: it works!

I recently helped someone get her account back using this method. It took nearly six months, but it worked.

In the meantime, she was able to use the website I designed for her to apply for gigs and maintain critical visibility with decision-makers in her industry.
